What Information Do We Collect?

When you sign up for Omnistream, we collect the personal information that you give us, such as your name, company name, and e-mail address.

We also collect the personal information of your site visitors, such as name, e-mail address, and phone number, if it is entered by you, your staff, or your customer. We also store the location of your site visitors, derived from their IP address at the time they start a session with you, plus the type of browser they were using at the time.

What Do We Do with Your Information?

We use your e-mail address as the account sign-in name, and with your permission we may send you e-mails about our service, new features, and software updates or interruptions.

If you enter the name and e-mail addresses of co-workers, we use that information to invite them to use Omnistream.

We store your customers' information solely for your benefit. We will never use your customers' information to get in contact with them unless we have your permission, as in the example of tracking down a software problem.

Consent

When you provide us with personal information, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for the account name and for communicating with you. If you would like to opt out of any type of e-mail that we may send to you, we will give you the opportunity to do so.

Disclosure

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.

If Omnistream is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to offer our service to you.

Third-party Services

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as Recurly, used as our payment gateway, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

As an example, if you are located in Canada, your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States; in that case your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.

Once you leave our website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

Security

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

Cookies, Local Storage, and Action Tags

Cookies are used extensively on this site. Omnistream is a web application; as compared to a simple web site, cookies are used to manage states of the application in order to allow it to operate. There is no personal information stored in any cookie, however, the cookie allows us to link it to personal information stored on our servers if you are logged into your account.

Local storage, a feature of modern web browsers, allows you to track recent pages viewed by your site visitors. The pages are stored on the computers of your visitors. Omnistream does not store this information, but may retrieve it for display to you during a session with your site visitor.

Action tags, also known as web beacons, may be used to track page views, in order to help us understand application usage patterns.

Metrics

We collect metrics such as page views and number of users of any Omnistream service. This information is aggregated in such a way as to anonymize any personal information.

‘Do Not Track’ Signals

Omnistream does not respond to ‘do not track’ in HTTP headers.

Uploaded Documents

Omnistream allows you to upload documents, for display to your site visitors. These documents are stored at a third-party data storage service. We recommend that you do not upload documents that contain personal information. We are not responsible for the security of uploaded documents.

If we receive a formal complaint that you are displaying copyrighted material that you do not have permission to use, we may be required to delete a document uploaded by you, as set forth in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998.

Omnistream Personnel

From time to time, Omnistream personnel may be required to view personal information in order to do their job, such as tracking down software bugs. Our employees have signed a confidentiality agreement that restricts them from disclosing customers' personal information outside of Omnistream.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.
